Rick Riordan Reveals Official The House Of Hades Cover Art, Plus The Synopsis

Updated: Rick Riordan reveals title of the last book in The Heroes of Olympus series.

The fun never stops for our Heroes of Olympus demigods in its fourth installment. The Mark of Athena left us with a very teasing cliffhanger that paves way to the excitement for the penultimate book in the series. And this time our favorite characters will go to the depths of Tartarus to fulfill the prophecy!

Here is what Rick Riordan has to say about that, "Working through 2nd draft of House of Hades. Still a long way to go, but it's coming along! And, yes, you will get some scenes in Tartarus." Can't really wait to buy and read this installment.

Here is the Heroes of Olympus Book 4: The House of Hades cover in its full glory.

House of Hades cover

I always thought that The Mark of Athena cover art was the best, but Jonn Rocco simply outdid himself by crafting this amazing new cover art for The House of Hades (HoH). The cover has one of the darker themes in the series, showing off our unfortunate and frayed-looking Percabeth.

The cover was revealed during the Book Expo America, same with the cover of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets special edition.

Updated: Also we have in our hands the House of hades cover for UK edition.

House of Hades cover UK

"Percy Jackson's deadliest adventure yet."

Synopsis

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

Updated: The House of Hades will hit bookshelves on October 8, 2013.

Third Bridget Jones Novel By Helen Fielding Titled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Last November 2012, the world was astounded to hear that Bridget Jones is to continue her chronicles with a third book. Who would have thought this could happen since we last read of her way back in 1999 with Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

The first two Bridget Jones novels.
Knock, knock. Bridget Jones is not only back, but she will also be going with the modern flow, using the social media format and text messages as chapter openers.

Now that everything is quite all set, Helen Fielding revealed that the title of the third book is Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. Does this seem to sound inappropriate? Is Bridget falling for a guy much younger than she is or are we expecting a little bundle of child?

We are not certain of these kind of details yet, but two thing's for sure: she's still having issues with her personal relationships and she's still writing a diary at her old age. And to demonstrate just that, we have an excerpt from the book that debuted over Entertainment Weekly:

Wednesday 24 October 2012

11.27 p.m. Just presss d SEND. Iss fine isn’t it?

You see, this is the trouble with the modern world. If it was the days of letter-writing, I would never even have started to find his address, a pen, a piece of paper, an envelope, a stamp, and gone outside at 11.30p.m. to find a postbox. A text is gone at the brush of a fingertip, like a nuclear bomb or exocet missile.

DATING RULE NO: 1
DO NOT TEXT WHEN DRUNK

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy by Helen Fielding will be released on October 25, 2013.

Percy Jackson And Annabeth Chase Team Up In New Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monters Promotional Poster

The dynamic duo of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, played by Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario, has been rocking the demigod scene since they first worked together and in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monters, the upcoming and much anticipated sequel of Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, they will once again prove how effective they are as a team.

The movie had it right in the following lines about Percabeth: "Percy and Annabeth combine to make an epic team, the likes of which Mt. Olympus has rarely seen. Together they defeated the Lightning Thief and returned Zeus’ bolt. This time they’ll sail into the heart of the Sea of Monsters together…"

Music Video: Love Somebody By Maroon 5 Showcases Some Monochromatic Love And Inventiveness

The latest Maroon 5 single entitled Love Somebody may have not been the best song that the band could offer, but the music video is another story. The song, which sounded a little like Whitney Houston's song, is easily forgivable because it added some rather under-appreciated original elements.

Beware of the following music video directed by Rich Lee (who also directed some music videos by will.i.am, The Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Scherzinger and a lot more), because it's just so inventive and clever. With a just a little tweak of the special effects the resulting product is an art painting in progress.

Watch the very engaging and uncanny-valley-effect-inducing music video of Love Somebody by Maroon 5.

Just compare this video with this photo taken during the shoot of the video.

So stop jabbering how the song sounded like a rehash of another and give Maroon 5 the chance they deserve. We know they have stumbled in the past, but the band is trying to up their game to keep up with the ever predictable mainstream.

One another note, don't you just enjoy Adam Levine and his team in The Voice Season 4?

Movies: Take These 5 Product Placement That's So Obvious

Lightning McQueen - Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade

The movie industry is the perfect vehicle for advertisers to surreptitiously—or overtly—push their money-making agenda to the masses. Most films are full of brands, either to reflect reality, or more than likely because of an advertising contract penned between the producers and business executives. The following quintet of films have become infamous for their use of product placement.

"E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial"

Steven Spielberg's “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” tells the tale of a boy and an alien brought together—by candy. When Spielberg sought a candy company to partner with, he originally chose Mars, Inc to use their flagship M&Ms. Mars rejected the proposition possibly because they didn't want their candy-coated chocolates associated with some weird, wide-eyed telekinetic alien. That deal then went to Hershey and the company agreed to promote the movie with $1 million in advertising in return for its product placement, according to Snopes.com. In the film, Elliot lures the extraterrestrial from hiding with a candy trail made of the now widely recognized peanut butter candy. After the film's debut, sales of Hershey's Reese's Pieces skyrocketed up 65 percent, according to Time.

"Cars"

Disney-Pixar's “Cars” and its sequel features insidious product placement, stopping short of glaring product name dropping. For example, Lightyear tires, a blatant copy of Goodyear tires, is plastered over Lightning McQueen's tires and the Lightyear blimp. Upon the release of “Cars 2,” Goodyear actually reskinned its website with the fictional tire brand to tie into the film. The entire franchise itself can arguably be called an advertisement for car manufacturers with its anthropomorphic car characters strongly resembling real world models.

"WALL-E"

While “WALL-E” doesn't feature a product placement per se, the Pixar sci-fi movie is chock-full of allusions to Apple. One can argue that EVE was a walking—or flying in this case—advertisement for Apple.  Their design guru, Johnny Ive, consulted on the robot's design, according to NYTimes.com. It's apparent by looking at EVE's pristine white shell that the bot was influenced by Apple's sleek, minimalist design aesthetic. The Apple placements don't end there however: WALL-E watches a movie on an iPod, emits the Mac welcome chime after recharging his batteries and the spaceship's computer speaks in the voice of an early Mac speech synthesizer, MacinTalk. Some viewers even spotted the OS X Leopard wallpaper.

"Cast Away"

“Cast Away” features a double whammy of product placement. Tom Hanks plays a FedEx employee who becomes stranded on a tropical island after the parcel company's plane crashes into the ocean. Over the course of the film, he opens many of the FedEx packages to survive, but one such package contains an intriguing, novel example of product placement. A Wilson Sporting Goods volleyball is personified into a character and companion of the sole survivor, complete with a bloody hand print face. The sporting good company created a promotional volleyball to resemble the movie character, and in fact, you can still buy the the Wilson Castaway volleyball today—a testament to the product placement's effectiveness.

"Transformers"

Michael Bay's “Transformers” couldn't and wouldn't exist without product placement. It's the bedrock of the entire franchise. But let's ignore the fact that the film exists solely to sell toys and make Hasbro some serious money. Knowing the film would feature extraneous use of cars, Bay selected GM after they offered $3 million toward funding the film, according to an interview with the director at Superherohype.com. Bay gave the car conglomerate what they paid for by packing scenes with glaring, shameless advertisements for the new Chevy Camaro and a slew of GM vehicles.

Watch The Silver Samurai Do Some Steel-Slashing Actions In New The Wolverine Trailer

Aside from battling his enemies, Logan will undergo yet a more terrifying battle: a psychological one. To combat this new enemy he goes to the orient lands of Japan, where he encounters strange friends and foes, and one of them is the Silver Samurai.

This is the first time that we finally see the Silver Samurai do some steel-slashing action. The bad thing is we only get glimpses of it and nothing that we could call spectacular. I hope this is nothing more like The Mandarin fiasco (yet a good fiasco at that) we've seen in Iron Man 3, because I wanna really see Silver Samurai for what he really is.

Watch the new trailer of The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman.

Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Miguel Squashed A Few Fans While Performing Adorn During Billboard Music Awards 2013

I got to admit I missed watching the entirety of Billboard Music Awards 2013 held last May 19, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. But I am never gonna miss the almost disastrous finale of Miguel's Adorn performance. You asked, "Why?" Because he just squashed a few fans after trying to leap from one side of the the stage to another.

One thing you shouldn't miss though is how Miguel made it look more cool than what it actually was. It was both bad and good luck for the few fans who were crushed, especially the blond woman, because they got a whole lot of air time exposure after that.

Watch Miguel's full performance of Adorn during Billboard Music Awards 2013.

Total performance is what we are aiming to see during the Billboard Music Awards, but we are not expecting this mistakes to come through so they are quiet forgivable. I bet one of the stage directors got a little reprimanding after this.

The Wolverine Shows Off Yukio And Viper Character Posters

Yours truly is easily drawn and impressed by Japanese art -- Ikebana, Karesansui, Kaiga, Manga and Anime are just some of them. But for whatever reason the lastest character posters from The Wolverine, despite its use of the Japanese's sumi-e painting technique does not really ignite some excitement in me.

Focus your attention on Viper's character poster for example. The poster would have been more acceptable without that very red forked tongue, which looked a little out of place. Next is Yukio. Is red really that necessary to ensure we know her character?

See for your self these two new The Wolverine character posters of Yukio and Viper and share to us your thoughts.

Viper - The Wolverine Character Poster

If you have missed the previous character posters, I have included them here also for your perusal and scrutiny.

Logan - The Wolverine Character Poster

Silver Samurai - The Wolverine Character Poster

So far, it's undeniable that the Silver Samurai character poster is the best among the lot. That's why I can't wait to see how are they to portray the character on the movie's release on July 26, 2013.

Jennifer Lawrence As Mystique Returns To The Set Of X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Jennifer Lawrence is not only back on set of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but she's also donning once again the vengeful Mystique's blue tight skin. Director Bryan Singer posted on his twitter this first look on Mystique.

As the movie title suggests, we will see some time-travelling action more or less orchestrated by our favorite Professor Xavier. Meaning we will be seeing the younger and present day versions of some of the mutants we've already seen before.

Check out Jennifer Lawrence prepping for her character Mystique.

Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men: Days of Future Past

Synopsis

In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.

X-Men: Days of Future Past travels back in time into the widescreen on July 18, 2014.

Music Video Of All Our Lives (Needy Me) By Max Milner Offers Some Wet Bathroom Scenes

The playful video of Max Milner's newest single, All Our Lives (Needy Me), offers some of the most honest scenes a music video could offer. This song, which is the first track in his recently released The Acoustic Deleted EP, is a bit not good for younger listeners, but is simply fresh for those who can relate.

The music video is directed by Max Milner himself with the now commonly used home-video style, allowing viewers to see some intimate scenes that are not only limited to the playful bath scene.

Come Alive With The New Alive Music Video by Bo Bruce, Co-written With Danny O'Donoghue

Alive is Bo Bruce's song co-written with The Voice UK mentor Danny O'Donoghue. Considering Danny's song-writing skills and Bo Bruce's fantastic voice, this song is surely to leave a spot among who hears it.

The music video is directed by James Lawes with Ben Fordesman as director of photography. It was edited by Jonny Lee Mills and colored by Dan Moran with the visual efects supervised by Abi Tomasiewicz.

Watch the music video of Alive by Bo Bruce.

Honestly, I can't really choose the best song in Bo Bruce's Before I Sleep album, because they are all equally very good.

Updated: The story of regret and wanting to live once again after realizing you haven't done everything you wanted to and then Damocles ended your pawned life. That's the very theme of the new music video by Bo Bruce, centering on the second single entitled Alive (from her Before I Sleep debut album).

Check out the music video's behind-the-scenes.

The video vaguely feels like a remake of 1990 film entitled Ghost, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. The good thing is even death cannot set Bo and her lover apart. If only that happens most of the time for the living...

The music video was directed by James Lawes (he also directed The Fall music video), with Ben Fordesman for director of photography. It was edited and colored by Jonny Lee Mills and Dan Moran, respectively. Abi Tomasiewicz supervised the video's visual effects.

It's the penultimate episode of the season. And here we are left with a dreadful feeling that we will have to wait another year to watch the second half of A Storm of Swords brought to life in television. Episode 8 entitled Second Sons was the last episode of the show in the month of May since we will skip a week for the Memorial Day.

Read with caution the episode's official synopsis: Robb presents himself to Walder Frey, and Edmure meets his bride. Jon faces his harshest test yet. Bran discovers a new gift. Daario and Jorah debate how to take Yunkai. House Frey joins with House Tully.

Here is the preview of the upcoming Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 9: The Rains of Castamere:

This retelling will surely expand the world Carroll has also created. Pirates, mermaids, djinni, magic and strange adventures. I am ready to jump into this rabbit hole!

Watch the trailer of Once Upon A Time In Wonderland.

Synopsis

In Victorian England, the young and beautiful Alice (Sophie Lowe) tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she’s seen during this impossible adventure. Surely this troubled girl must be insane and her doctors aim to cure her with a treatment that will make her forget everything. Alice seems ready to put it all behind her, especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever—the handsome and mysterious Cyrus (Peter Gadiot). But deep down Alice knows this world is real and just in the nick of time, the sardonic Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and the irrepressible White Rabbit (John Lithgow) arrive to save her from a doomed fate. Together, the trio will take a tumble down the rabbit hole to this Wonderland where nothing is impossible.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland stars Sophie Lowe (Beautiful Kate) as Alice, Michael Socha (This Is England) as Knave of Hearts, Peter Gadiot (The Forbidden Girl) as Cyrus, Emma Rigby (Hollyoaks) as Queen of Hearts and John Lithgow (Third Rock From The Sun) as the voice of the White Rabbit.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland was written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Once Upon A Time) who serve as executive producers. Steve Perlman and Zack Estrin also serve as executive producers and the pilot was directed by Ralph Hemecker. Once Upon A Time In Wonderland is produced by ABC Studios.

The Fall Of Arthur By J.R.R. Tolkien And Edited By Christopher Tolkien To Be Released May 2013

Christopher Tolkien, son of the author of LOTR, is really to thank for. Without him how much longer do you think are we going to enjoy the legacy J.R.R. Tolkien has left behind? We have to credit him for all of Tolkien's posthumous books.

You have enjoyed reading The Children of Húrin and The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún in the past years and this year we are to experience Tolkien's take on one of the famous Western legends, The Arthurian Legends, which we will first read in less than a week from now.

Checkout this ever beautiful cover of The Fall Of Arthur By J.R.R. Tolkien, edited by Christopher Tolkien.

The Fall Of Arthur By J.R.R. Tolkien

Synopsis

The world first publication of a previously unknown work by J.R.R. Tolkien, which tells the extraordinary story of the final days of England’s legendary hero, King Arthur.

The Fall of Arthur, the only venture by J.R.R. Tolkien into the legends of Arthur King of Britain, may well be regarded as his finest and most skilful achievement in the use of the Old English alliterative metre, in which he brought to his transforming perceptions of the old narratives a pervasive sense of the grave and fateful nature of all that is told: of Arthur’s expedition overseas into distant heathen lands, of Guinevere’s flight from Camelot, of the great sea-battle on Arthur’s return to Britain, in the portrait of the traitor Mordred, in the tormented doubts of Lancelot in his French castle.

Unhappily, The Fall of Arthur was one of several long narrative poems that he abandoned in that period. In this case he evidently began it in the earlier nineteen-thirties, and it was sufficiently advanced for him to send it to a very perceptive friend who read it with great enthusiasm at the end of 1934 and urgently pressed him ‘You simply must finish it!’ But in vain: he abandoned it, at some date unknown, though there is some evidence that it may have been in 1937, the year of the publication of The Hobbit and the first stirrings of The Lord of the Rings. Years later, in a letter of 1955, he said that ‘he hoped to finish a long poem on The Fall of Arthur’; but that day never came.

Associated with the text of the poem, however, are many manuscript pages: a great quantity of drafting and experimentation in verse, in which the strange evolution of the poem’s structure is revealed, together with narrative synopses and very significant if tantalising notes. In these latter can be discerned clear if mysterious associations of the Arthurian conclusion with The Silmarillion, and the bitter ending of the love of Lancelot and Guinevere, which was never written.

The Fall Of Arthur hits our shelves on May 23, 2013. Check out this deluxe edition from Amazon.

Ingrid Michaelson Exhibits Why I Love Her With New Without You Single

My heart was left with a gaping hole brimming with hope when I first encountered Human Again, Ingrid Michaelson's latest album released in 2012. What more could you ask for than perching on your favorite spot and listen to End of the World, Blood Brothers, Ghost and all other songs from the album, while enjoying the summer breeze? Since then I have this auditory thirst that only Ingrid Michaelson could quench.

Thankfully I have Grey's Anatomy season finale to thank for, because it is in this episode that Ingrid Michaelson debuted a new single entitled Without You. In this song Ingrid shows us how to be strong and independent from a so called lover. Just take this bold line for example, "My life will grow, my love will go, my life will go, my love will grow without you."

Concerns On The Final Turbo Movie Poster By Dreamworks (He's Fast. They're Furious.)

The lastest poster of Dreamwork's Turbo, starring Ryan Reynolds, may as well catch your attention with a very nice tag line. He's Fast. They're Furious.

Funny as it may sound, many might surely be furious about this very familiar tagline as it nearly resembles one of the most well-known car-racing movie franchise out there: The Fast & the Furious. It's funny how the movie's logo quite resembled that of the latter's as well. Personally I hope the similarities end there, because I don't wanna see another copy cat coming our way. I heard some complained that the story might as well be a chunk of Disney Pixar's Cars!

Despite these skeptical concerns, the movie is doing very well. We've seen the trailer and it's nothing short of thrill, fun and excitement. Just like it's latest poster that you can see below.

7 Female Artists Dominate The Voice Season 4 Top 10 -- With 3 Male Acts Remaining

This season might not be the season for the male artists of The Voice Season 4. After the final announcement of the Top 10, only 3 male acts remain, who will compete against 7 talented female artists. But who knows, maybe one of these three males will out perform the rest -- and America's votes are sometimes unpredictable.

Male champions were the produce of the first two season, only to be interupted by Cassadee Pope's triumph last season. Will this season tie the winning count or would another male artist stand out among the rest and be named this season's The Voice.

Take a guess -- and show your support -- who among The Voice Season 4 Top 10 will make it to the finals.

The Voice Season 4 Top 10

Will it be The Swon Brothers, Amber Carrington, Kris Thomas, Holly Tucker, Sarah Simmons, Judith Hill, Danielle Bradberry, Michelle Chamuel, Sasha Allen or Josiah Hawley.

For two hours, the Top 10 will perform live on Monday, May 20, 2013, to be followed by the results night on Tuesday, May 21. Two bottom acts will be eliminated once again, narrowing the line-up of artists for the grand finale.

Teams Adam and Blake take the lead with 3 artists each, while Teams Shakira and Usher follow with two. Last season was a little uneven as well, leaving Team Christina and Team Adam with no artist during the finals. Team Blake dominated the stage with two artists against Team Cee Lo's lone act.

Will the same thing happen again, find out on the next episodes of The Voice Season 4.
