The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Swings With Official New York Times Square Trailer

This Marc Webb follow-up to The Amazing Spider-Man will hopefully not follow on the tracks of the third movie of the original movie trilogy. You see, after the studio (hello Sony Pictures / Columbia Pictures) interfered with Sam Raimi's masterpiece it turned out like hell, thinking that when Spidey faces a lot of villains in one movie then everyone would dig it. Unfortunately it didn't, leading to the fall of the original movie series -- the main reason why this reboot was done anyway.

Hopefully the vision of the movie's director will see the light and he won't allow the studio to push him over with ideas so ugly making this reboot turn out the way the first series ended: a flop. It's quite relieving though this got some decent writers work with the script: Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt.

Anyway, what's your thoughts on this recently released The Amazing Spider-Man 2 New Year's Eve Times Square trailer?

Synopsis

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy -- between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away -- but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Can't really wait for May 2, 201 anymore -- the day The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings to theaters!

Melissa De La Cruz Goes With Royalty Magic In New Novel The Ring and the Crown

I haven't read any of Melissa de la Cruz's books. But I like her, not only because of her Filipino heritage, but I came to enjoy the TV adaptation of her novel series, Witches of East End. I can't deny that I've been wanting to buy her books for quite sometime now -- who would scorn a New York Times bestseller? -- but my OC tendencies prevent me from buying them if I couldn't have them all together in hardbound.

One of her upcoming novels is The Ring and the Crown... We go back to ancient times and forget the modern world interspersed with magic -- the common scenario that de la Cruz always play around. Put magic and classic period together and we got this for a juicy read.

Isn't this new cover of The Ring and the Crown by Melissa De la Cruz really nice?

The Ring and the Crown by Melissa De la Cruz

Synopsis

Magic is power, and power is magic...

Once they were inseparable, just two little girls playing games in a mighty castle. Now Princess Marie-Victoria, heir to the mightiest empire in the world, and Aelwyn Myrddyn, a bastard mage, face vastly different futures.

Quiet and gentle, Marie has never lived up to the ambitions of her mother, Queen Eleanor the Second. With the help of her Merlin, Eleanor has maintained a stranglehold on the world's only source of magic. While the enchanters faithfully serve the crown, the sun will never set on the Franco-British Empire.

As the annual London Season begins, the great and noble families across the globe flaunt their wealth and magic at parties, teas, and, of course, the lavish Bal du Drap d'Or, the Ball of the Gold Cloth.

But the talk of the season is Ronan Astor, a social-climbing American with only her dazzling beauty to recommend her. Ronan is determined to make a good match to save her family's position. But when she falls for a handsome rogue on the voyage over, her lofty plans are imperiled by her desires.

Meanwhile, Isabelle of Orleans, daughter of the displaced French royal family, finds herself cast aside by Leopold, heir to the Prussian crown, in favor of a political marriage to Marie-Victoria. Isabelle arrives in the city bent on reclaiming what is hers. But Marie doesn't even want Leopold-she has lost her heart to a boy the future queen would never be allowed to marry.

When Marie comes to Aelwyn, desperate to escape a life without love, the girls form a perilous plan that endangers not only the entire kingdom but the fate of the monarchy.

The Ring and the Crown by Melissa De la Cruz will fly to bookshelves on April 1, 2014.

Miley Cyrus Has Done It Again With The Official 'Adore You' Music Video

Miley Cyrus is back with her music video stunts. She's relentless, but is it just me or her momentum is slowing down? Her pre-Christmas season single, Adore You, has just landed with a new music video... Still rebellious, still selling sex, and still showing off some only-in-the-beroom scene, but there is one thing to notice. The singer is slowing down out of exhaustion and the energy of her previous two videos seems to be slipping away.

Adore You by Miley Cyrus

Looks like the Miley Cyrus team is running out of ideas to make her videos fantastic. She's not that fun anymore and she has done it (she ruined it!) with one of my favorite songs in the Bangerz album. Do you think she's losing grip and control over her once powerful Dominion on music videos? If she thinks this simulation of a sex video makes it feel right and tops the previous two videos, then I guess she wrong.

Watch the new music video of Adore You by Miley Cyrus.

Adore You is the third single lifted from her recent album. It came out first in the track listing and is written by Stacy Barthe with Oren Yoel, who also produced the song.

Peter Jackson Discusses The Musical Score On The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Production Diary 14

For the last production diary video of this year, Peter Jackson takes us on tour on how the scoring of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is done. If you've watch the movie, then you can immediately conclude that the movie has one of the most suspenseful and dark themes that can be compared with the haunting scores of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

We all know Howard Shore is back to put some musical depth on the movie and it's great having him back to preserve the continuity and tone of the entire series. Of course we should also put our regards to the orchestra and band that makes Shore's music a reality to our senses.

Here is the latest production video for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Production Diary 14

The Hobbit: There and Back Again is still to come, so we can expect more production videos from Peter Jackson. Until next year, then. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is now showing in theaters near you.

Johnny Depp Touches On Science Fiction Once Again With Transcendence Official Teaser Trailer

I don't know what is happening with marketing trends on movies, but isn't it annoying that studios now a days release teaser trailer that really has nothing on it, much more with trailer teasers which are a teaser of the teaser trailer.

Transcendence

Such wanton trend is even seen in the new trailer of Transcendence, directed by Wally Pfister. This Warner Bros. Pictures presentation is based on the screenplay by Jack Paglen and stars Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Morgan Freeman, Cole Hauser and Cillian Murphy. As for Depp, this is his recent return to science fiction, the last of which was The Astronaut's Wife way back in 1999.

Updated: Finally here is the official trailer of Transcendence.

If you ask me, there is really nothing to watch on the teaser trailer. But still you can listen to Johny Depp's monologue as he explains what Transcendence is.

This version with Morgan Freeman's voice over is quite better.

Synopsis

Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeed—to be a participant in his own transcendence. For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they can...but if they should.

Their worst fears are realized as Will's thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

Transcendence will hit cinemas on April 18, 2014.

The rusty crew of veteran action stars are back. And when I say rusty I mean rusty with age and years of experience. In order to defeat Stonebanks, Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet.

Mike Posner & Big Sean Goes Charitable In 'Top of the World' Music Video

In one of his best song yet, Mike Posner goes come solo as his Big Sean is backing him up. This come back has been a long time in the waiting, but I guess the wait is worth every second of it. Mike Posner's Top of the World much more with its music video just demonstrates what I love about this shrill-voiced artist!

Top of the World by Mike Posner ft. Big Sean

The song, which sounded very much like The Way It Used To be, is the artist's latest single and it will included in his Page 1 extended play. It is a part for his campaign on his upcoming Pages album. According to reports the song was originally used for a Reebok campaign, and as a remix it was made available for free under the title Tapada World.

Divergent: Tris And Four Share A Steamy Kiss In The Official Extended Movie Clip

As Ellie Goulding serenades us with hauntingly angelic voice, Tris and Four, played by Shailene Woodley and Theo James respectively, are having a time of their own.  It was much like a show and tell moment that lead to something steamy afterwards. The newest movie clip of Divergent really knows how to magnetize the female fan base of the book series, if you ask me.

Divergent

Next year, this Summit Entertainment presentation will either prove that movie adaptations based on best selling novels will work just the way The Twilight Saga did. Hopefully director Neil Burger did his job well, same is true with the screen writers, Vanessa Taylor, Evan Daugherty. If they do we will certainly see the light the the remaining sequels in the series.

There is no denying that chemistry is really there with the main cast. Hopefully we can say the same with the rest of the cast including Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Mekhi Phifer, Maggie Q, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoл Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Ben Lamb, Christian Madsen, Amy Newbold, Ashley Judd and Tony Goldwyn.

Watch the official extended clip of Divergent, starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James.

Divergent is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late.

Divergent will hit theaters on March 21, 2014.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Teaser Poster Hints On Peter Parker's Greatest Battle Yet

We've seen the heart-pounding trailer of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and yes I am admittedly in love with the movie already. It's very different with the first movie, much more with the original movie series and I am very happy about that. What's more, a new teaser poster of the movie has been released solidifying its release date and what to expect from it.

The Book Thief, A Story About Those Who Tried To Save A Soul, Risking It All

A hugely anticipated adaptation of Markus Zusak’s book, The Book Thief hits the theaters this January. It captures a story about a girl, named Liesel who is given to adoption to a German family. It is all happening in the Nazi Germany, at the time of the World War II.

In the Book Thief trailer we see how she and her foster family struggle to hide a Jewish friend, in the basement of their house. Liesel is a special girl, who despite the lack of education and the fact that she cannot read, steals books. The lack of education should not be confused with the lack of intelligence. She is a brave girl, who tries her best for keeping the hope alive in her heart and in other people’s hearts. Max, the Jewish young boy that hides in her house is a passionate reader. So they both find the common love for language, which opens a new door to different ideas and thoughts.

The Book Thief

As the story goes, Hans, the foster dad, starts teaching Liesel to read. They both develop a very sweet father-daughter relationship. Rosa, the foster mother, is seen in the beginning as a cold and distant person. In The Book Thief trailer, we see how Rosa shows no trust to Liesel, in doubting her ability to keep a secret, as she is only a kid. The story is heartbreaking and it will make you look at the Second World War and the Nazi Germany, from a different point of view.

We are rarely thinking about the fact that behind Hitler and the Nazi regime, there were ordinary people and families who supported it all. Even if keeping the head down was the safest way to protest against the regime, it was not helping to stop it. So what we get to see also in The Book Thief movie, is how people of a small German town, kept living their lives, feeding their kids, ignoring the happening and waiting for it all to be over. A devastating time is shown in this film with different tools, than the ones we are so used seeing in the typical war dramas.

The public will have moments of smiling during the movie and no one should be feeling guilty about it. The times were devastating, but there were still people with big hearts, who helped the others, who were in need. The Book Thief is directed by the very talented Brian Percival and you will get to see an Academy Award winner and a nominee, playing the amazing roles of people who tried their best, to save a lost life.

John Mayer And Katy Perry Having Real Good Time In 'Who You Love' Music Video

After being rained down by Beyonce's fantastic, yet very graphic, music videos, I was in for a very easy to listen and watch music video the likes of which only John Mayer could do. And I am so thankful that this longing was satisfied by the newly released Who You Love music video by the said artist, featuring Katy Perry.

It's quite nice to see the two singers together and the bull riding idea just puts a smile to my already broken features. Brighten your day with this heart-warming video that you could seldom find these days.

Watch the new music video of Who You Love by John Mayer, featuring Katy Perry.

Lifted by John Mayer's Paradise Valley album, Who You Love is the sixth track and the third single from the said album. The single was released in early September and the music video is just in time to put back the hype to it.

This beautiful music video was directed by Sophie Muller, who has done or participated in numerous music videos since 1980s.

Almost everyone creates its own cosy and safe world. Our life is full of routine, problems, we are always in rush, have to do something, to get somewhere, not time to stop and smile. And then a person starts to live in his own world to forget about all its duties for a while. In our dreams we can be whoever we want or desire, we can change everything what surrounds us and make it comfortable for ourselves. Who said that a little person cannot have a big dream? The new movie called The Secret Life of Walter Mitty shows a life of a regular worker, who is barely noticeable among his co-workers but in his imagination he transforms into a superhero who is capable of everything.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

It took almost 20 years to create this movie. The cast was changing, the screenplay was rewriting over and over again. And finally, the film will be shown in theatres at the end of December. Ben Stiller, who plays the main role, also directed this movie.

This movie is a remake of the original story, written by James Thurber, which was printed in The New Yorker magazine 74 years ago. The original story is about an ordinary man who achieved more in his imaginary world than in his real life. The movie character works in the photo department of the Life magazine, but now new superiors are in lead and the company's life is about to change.

Most part of the staff can lose their jobs and Walter, who has a crush on his new co-worker, Cheryl, is afraid to lose his job too and never see his love interest again. Luckily, Walter saves his job but it hasn't changed a thing. Walter still has a crush, but Cheryl doesn't pay any attention to him.

The main character lives in his own world full of heroism, romance and love. Wherever he is, is it on a bus station or his office, Walter stays in his dreams. He imagines how he is going to win Cheryl's heart, how will safe her form danger but in real life he freezes when he sees her and cannot say a word, he even tries to reach her through a social network, but he fails again.

The magazine has the task to get a perfect picture for the new cover issue and Walter, surprisingly, decides to accomplish this task by himself. He tries to make his dream come true and his biggest dream is Cheryl. Leading by the desire to win her, Walter travels to Greenland and from now on his whole life is about to change. He starts his risky adventure and becomes a man he always wanted to.

This movie is truly inspiring and its scheduled time in theatres is kind of symbolic. It will air on 25th of December, on the Christmas time. And as we know this time is full of magic and every wish can come true. Feel the magic of the movie and believe in yourself, because everything is possible.

Kellan Lutz Slays In The New The Legend Of Hercules Man, God, Hero Trailer

I was not even sure when Hercules: The Legend Begins was retitled to The Legend of Hercules. And I think it's for good reason as after reading the original title I suspect immediately that it's gonna be a series leaning towards future money making schemes. Well, there's no really surprise to that because that's movie-making business for you.

The Legend of Hercules

The new title of the movie starring Kellan Lutz is a step better than its predecessor, yet the newly released second trailer of the movie is a mile away more informative (offering new scenes) than the first one. It does not only make me excited, but it totally forced me to forget my prejudice towards the original title of the movie.

Watch the new The Legend of Hercules.

Synopsis

In the epic origin story The Legend of Hercules, Kellan Lutz stars as the mythical Greek hero -- the son of Zeus, a half-god, half-man blessed with extraordinary strength. Betrayed by his stepfather, the King, and exiled and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love, Hercules must use his formidable powers to fight his way back to his rightful kingdom. Through harrowing battles and gladiator-arena death matches, Hercules embarks on a legendary odyssey to overthrow the King and restore peace to the land.

Come January 10, 2014 we will witness the first installment (out of many more sequels, I predict) of The Legend of Hercules in theaters near you.

Godzilla Returns With A Shattering, Official Teaser Trailer

When director Roland Emmerich adapted Godzilla and brought it to the Hollywood cinemas, I was greatly ecstatic then. I was a child wanting to see huge monsters appear, only to be fought by mere humans and their almost useless war toys.

Godzilla

And now after a couple of years, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures lead the remake of the said movie, this time directed Gareth Edwards based on the script written by Max Borenstein. This action and sci-fi adventure movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.

The Counsellor: The Evil Chic (Spotlight On Cameron Diaz As Malkina)

In the modern world it is hard to find people who do not fall under the influence of bad. These people are considered either weak, poor; either they are ignored by stronger ones. The association between strength and ambition is what makes a man powerful and rich. Even if he got this way, by taking the bad path, he anyway will remain strong in the eyes of the others.

Cameron Diaz As Malkina

The Counsellor is a new movie, written by Cormac McCarthy and directed by Ridley Scott, that shows humans who chose to be bad. The story describes a life of a lawyer, whose ambitions made him become a prey for some dangerous Mexican Cartels. It involves many expressive characters, played by famous actors like Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt and many others. The style of the characters, says a lot about them, as they are all dressed up in expensive clothes and finicky jewelries. Malkina, for example is one evil woman, played by Cameron Diaz, this woman has a leopard tattoo on her back, that’s sexy and tricky and it says a lot about her dangerous personality. Her style is always a powerful one, using the gold and the silver to show that she loves goodies and she is capable of anything. Whatever the consequences of her actions are, she is never thinking about regrets. Like a leopard Malkina, has a crazy drive in possessing and getting anything she wants.

In the end, we do not get to see only the bad parts of the human kind, we also have to understand the teaching part of the movie, that shows how our sometimes irrational decisions influence the lives of the others. The today eager purpose does not always end with an eager tomorrow. We are all humans, we all sin when it comes to our ambitions, but there is always a limit.

The Counsellor is the thriller which is raging with a very high temperature of bad, as the evil seems to pervade or influence every character. It is a movie about love, murderer, drugs and wild actions.

#MusicMondays: Listen To Change Me By Justin Bieber, The Penultimate Music Mondays Song

The penultimate song in the #MusicMondays campaign by Justin Bieber has come. The new single is entitled Change Me and it's album cover resembles an oblong shaped mirror, if I am not mistaken. This less than 3-minute piano and vocal combination will either turn you on or drive you away completely... because I am honestly getting tired of all these ballads from the singer.

Change Me by Justin Bieber

This time around the song goes away from the fast tempo that made the previous song stand out from the rest of the campaign and we are once again drowned by another ballad of what is, shoulda, woulda, coulda. If all of the ten songs will be compiled as a new album, then we can prematurely say that this is Justin Bieber's most emotional -- or saddest -- album yet...

Listen to Change Me by Justin Bieber.

There will only be one song remaining before the release of Believe movie on Christmas. You can download Change Me By Justin Bieber at iTunes.

Paul Walker Tribute: Looking Back To 10 Years Of The Fast And The Furious

The shocking news of an untimely death of another favorite Hollywood actor of mine reverberated in the expanse of the social media space. His name is Paul Walker. Just like everyone else, I was hoping that it was all a hoax -- who wouldn't, after Jackie Chan had been announced dead more than the number of fingers on my hands.

Paul Walker

But the sad realization was that the news was never fake and this unacceptable truth left me speechless for a while. Paul Walker was already a favorite even before he starred in The Fast and the Furious. But then his Brian O'Conner role has sealed everyone's like for him. The following tribute released by the Fast and Furious family brings back the memories that his friends, colleagues and fans will surely cherish.

Read the Fast & Furious - Look Back (In memory of Paul Walker, September 12, 1973 - November 30, 2013), preceded by the trailer of the Fast and Furious 6:

Paul William Walker IV (September 12, 1973 -- November 30, 2013) was an American actor. He became famous in 1999 after his role in the hit film Varsity Blues, but later became best known for starring as Brian O'Conner in The Fast and the Furious film series. His other films include Eight Below, Into the Blue, She's All That, and Takers. He also appeared on the National Geographic Channel series Expedition Great White. Walker died as a passenger in a car crash on November 30, 2013, in Valencia, California.

And to think he died in the hope of helping fellow Filipinos who were affected by Yolanda. Paul Walker, you will greatly be missed.
