Shadow Scale, Sequel To Seraphina By Rachel Hartman, To Be Release Next Year

As author Rachel Hartman adeptly puts it "the only thing anyone cares about anymore is the sequel." That's exactly true if you are very good at writing books, and authors should be flattered that readers are asking them for more stories. Well the one thing that put Hartman to that position is her acclaimed and award-winning fantasy novel called Seraphina -- the cover you can see below. The story of Seraphina, a talented musician from Goredd, continues with Shadow Scale, a worthy companion and sequel...

The cover has never been released, so we should bear the wait by reminding our selves the beautiful cover of the first one.

Anne Rice Returns To The Vampire Chronicles With Prince Lestat

Despite saying not to return to The Vampire Chronicles anymore, Anne Rice has taken her seat to scribe yet another vampire store of Prince Lestat. The book is said to be schduled for an October 28, 2014 release.

Synopsis

A stunning departure, a surprising and compelling return…From Anne Rice, perennial best seller, single-handed reinventor of the vampire cosmology-a new, exhilarating novel, a deepening of her vampire mythology, and a chillingly hypnotic mystery-thriller.

"What can we do but reach for the embrace that must now contain both heaven and hell: our doom again and again and again…" - from The Vampire Lestat

Rice once again summons up the irresistible spirit-world of the oldest and most powerful forces of the night, invisible beings unleashed on an unsuspecting world able to take blood from humans, in a long-awaited return to the extraordinary world of the Vampire Chronicles and the uniquely seductive Queen of the Damned("mesmerizing" -SF Chronicle), a long-awaited novel that picks up where The Vampire Lestat ("brilliant…its undead characters are utterly alive" -New York Times) left off more than a quarter of a century ago to create an extraordinary new world of spirits and forces-the characters, legend, and lore of all the Vampire Chronicles.

The novel opens with the vampire world in crisis…vampires have been proliferating out of control; burnings have commenced all over the world, huge massacres similar to those carried out by Akasha in The Queen of the Damned…Old vampires, roused from slumber in the earth are doing the bidding of a Voice commanding that they indiscriminately burn vampire-mavericks in cities from Paris and Mumbai to Hong Kong, Kyoto, and San Francisco.

As the novel moves from present-day New York and the West Coast to ancient Egypt, fourth century Carthage, 14th-century Rome, the Venice of the Renaissance, the worlds and beings of all the Vampire Chronicles-Louis de Pointe du Lac; the eternally young Armand, whose face is that of a Boticelli angel; Mekare and Maharet, Pandora and Flavius; David Talbot, vampire and ultimate fixer from the secret Talamasca; and Marius, the true Child of the Millennia; along with all the other new seductive, supernatural creatures-come together in this large, luxuriant, fiercely ambitious novel to ultimately rise up and seek out who-or what-the Voice is, and to discover the secret of what it desires and why…

And, at the book's center, the seemingly absent, curiously missing hero-wanderer, the dazzling, dangerous rebel-outlaw-the great hope of the Undead, the dazzling Prince Lestat…

Justin Cronin Busy On The City of Mirrors, Much Awaited Sequel To 'The Passage' & 'The Twelve'

Updated: See latest updates and details on The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin.

Whether in primetime TV, movies, or books, post apocalyptic stories of zombie attacks and other similar plot have a been an instant hit. Surely if you are one of those who liked these kind of entertainment you might have heard of Justin Cronin's The Passage and The Twelve... And guess what these are just the first two books of the so called The Passage Trilogy.

The Passage by Justin Cronin

If you've enjoyed this two books a lot, then you are in for a treat with it's finale entitled The City of Mirrors. The author is busy with writing the book as of the moment slated for release this year (?). I was a little surprised with the title of course, considering it feels like it came out of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series.

The Twelve by Justin Cronin

But the real question of it all is "When will the book be released?" Even visiting Justin Cronin's website can't give us an answer. It took him 2 years to write the second book so we might as well expect the same for the finale... and that means this year. Will the rumored October 23, 2014 release date deliver (that's just according to Amazon UK) or October 15, 2015 according to Waterstones.com?

Even the cover has not been revealed yet, but seeing how great the covers of the previous two were, we can only assume a backdrop of another landscape instrumental to the novel with superimposing title and author types in the foreground. Blue and reddish-orange are already up, can we assume something of the green shade then...?

On The Look-Out For The Fault In Our Stars Author John Green's Next Book, The Racket

I still remember the days when John Green was not into my system and blood stream. That was a few years ago. If there is one phrase to describe him, he has to be my "reality checker." I both loved and hated the day I read his most popular book, The Fault in Our Stars. Because in that day I started to realize how great YA novels were, and the bad part is I can't get my self out of that.

Fast forward a few years and we are now anticipating for the movie adaptation of the said book. The book was adapted to screen by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the same team that brought us (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now. So we can be rest assured of how the movie will turn out...

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

The fandom was a little ecstatic when it was announced that Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, both in the recently released Divergent as siblings, will play the lead roles of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. We've seen how they work together and so far we can be satisfied -- I am only hoping that I could take Four out in the picture whenever I see them together.

We only have to wait until June 6, 2014, to see if director Josh Boone has handled to movie well enough for our liking... And I've heard author John Green was smiling broadly.

Paper Towns by John Green

In a not so surprising turn of events -- and a few weeks later -- 20th Century Fox, the same studio that produced the said adaptation, will not kick on the brakes but will keep on with the momentum by adapting another of John Green's novel called Paper Towns. Imagine John Green's ear-to-ear smile when two out his books make it to the bigscreen!

Well, if you only knew that the novel was previously optioned for a movie, with the author doing the first draft of the screenplay... Which at the end became quite a disaster due to some artistic differences. It was a blessing in disguise actually. Just see how TFIOS turned out to be!

After four (4) John Green solo novels, two (2) collaborative works, one (1) fantastic vlog and two (2) movie adaptations, what's in store for the future? How can one fan satisfy the hunger for all-things-John-Green? Is there still hope waiting for us at the other side of the horizon? We'll maybe it's time to share the chirping of a bird: John Green is beginning to write his next book and it's called The Racket...
