Maleficent Used To Have Wings In The Latest Disney's Maleficent Movie Trailer

The writer (Linda Woolverton) of Walt Disney Pictures' Maleficent is making me smile. If superheroes have origins movies, then this is probably the first among fairy tales. Not only will we see the "other" version of the story of Sleeping Beauty, but we will get to know more way before the story even started in that classic animated tale...

The new trailer of the movie suggests the Maleficent, played by Angelina Jolie, was also a winged fairy, but her wings were eventually stolen from her. Maybe by the King? Cause that would explain her grudge on the Royal Family.

Directed by Robert Stromberg, the movie also stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.

Get to know more about the past of Maleficent in this new trailer.

From Disney comes Maleficent -- the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty." A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well.

Walt Disney Pictures' Maleficent will be in theaters on May 30, 2014.
