The 38th Metro Manila Film Festival

Now that the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) season is in the air, Filipino filmmakers are propping to showcase their best of the best. I honestly lost track of the festival since 2008, because I lost interest for any local or foreign movies by then. Hopefully my love for Filipino movies will be rekindled once again. And probably these eight entries will do it for me.

I would have like to say supportahan ang sariling atin (support our own...), but that's still to be decided until I'm satisfied by this years lot. Don't take me for someone unpatriotic or anti-nationalistic, but I was once disappointed to pay a lot (since cinema tix prices are getting too expensive for my taste) for something that didn't really make me enjoy... Well maybe the fault was mine, since I bought one ticket for every entry that time.

This year, the top 8 entries that were chosen were based on the highest lobbying placement fee paid by  the concerned film makers. In no particular order, here they are:

All Metro Manila Film Festival entries will be open for public viewing in local cinemas starting December 25, 2012 until the first week of January 2013. No foreign movies will be showcased during these times, so expect an all-Made-in-the-Philippines movie gathering  in your area.
