Movie Trailer: The Future Of Mankind Rests On The Shoulders Of Fantastic Four

If you were not satisfied with the original attempts of adapting Fantastic Four into movies, then this 2015 reboot may as well be just for you. With the hopes of crossing the Marvel cinematic universe into one big picture, this reboot almost adjusts to the theme and continuity that is concurrent with all Marvel movies now a days.

Fantastic Four

This Josh Trank-directed movie reboot stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell. Attempting to stray away from the original movie, this reboot gives new faces (and younger at age for that matter) and tone to the entire story and it even simulates the cinematography of the Star Trek remake, which if you ask me is a great move.

Watch the new trailer of Fantastic Four.

Synopsis

Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Fantastic Four will start saving the world, in cinemas on August 7, 2015.

Jennifer A. Nielsen Reveals Official Cover And Synopsis For 'A Night Divided' Historical Novel

Ever since Scholastic Press released The False Prince, I was immediately intrigued by the book's author, Jennifer A. Nielsen. I searched around for her and discovered it was among her first novels (along with Elliot's Underworld Chronicles). From then on I started to have a great love for JAN, as I now try to abbreviate her name, and so I promoted her to my friends and on this blog many times.

My first though of her first novel is that it is fairly like game of Thrones, especially written for children. And if you have seen the US covers of the GOT series, then you might also notice the similarities with that of JAN's US book covers. Come The Runaway King and The Shadow Throne and I was sold, my fate has been sealed. Jennifer A. Nielsen has just solidified her place among great children's story writers and more.

Hungry for more I looked into her blog regularly, commenting every time I found something new interesting and implying I'd like to join her contests, but I can't since I am from the Philippines. I was just happy enough when she announced she's coming back with a new series, Praetor War, with the first book titled Mark of the Thief and slated for Feb 24, 2015.

Going away from the fantastical, but not from the historical, fans may be in for another satisfying treat with her upcoming new novel, A Night Divided. The author has shared with us the official cover and on her blog she is also running a contest for a chance to win one of a few Mark of the Thief ARCS.

Check out the haunting, new cover of A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen.

A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen

Synopsis

From NYT bestselling author Jennifer A. Nielsen comes a stunning thriller about a girl who must escape to freedom after the Berlin Wall divides her family between east and west.

With the rise of the Berlin Wall, twelve-year-old Gerta finds her family suddenly divided. She, her mother, and her brother Fritz live on the eastern side, controlled by the Soviets. Her father and middle brother, who had gone west in search of work, cannot return home. Gerta knows it is dangerous to watch the wall, to think forbidden thoughts of freedom, yet she can't help herself. She sees the East German soldiers with their guns trained on their own citizens; she, her family, her neighbors and friends are prisoners in their own city.

But one day, while on her way to school, Gerta spots her father on a viewing platform on the western side, pantomiming a peculiar dance. Then, when she receives a mysterious drawing, Gerta puts two and two together and concludes that her father wants Gerta and Fritz to tunnel beneath the wall, out of East Berlin. However, if they are caught, the consequences will be deadly. No one can be trusted. Will Gerta and her family find their way to freedom?

A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen will be released on August 25, 2015.

Christina Perri Releases Another Heart-Wrenching Music Video With 'The Words'

There was once a time when songs affects me greatly and my emotions fly off the audio box or computer. That was such a long time ago and I could never say the same. The Words by Christina Perri was once a well of tears for me when I listen to it, but now it just serves as a reminders of my previous self, as if caressing the hard wall that I put around my self.

For the sake of its music video, I tried to topple down the wall... and yet I couldn't. The lyrics and tune still vibrate and attempt to topple the wall, but I think I guess the effort is worthless. So I leave all the emotional connection to you, dear readers, for it might have a great chance of affecting you one way or another.

Watch the new music video of The Words by Christina Perri.

This music video is produced by Vlad Cojocaru, under Antler Films. It is directed by Iouri Philippe Paille, and features Once Upon a Time's Colin O'Donoghue as Perri's love interest. The music video for The Words was released as a conjunction for the song's single, which was released on January 26, 2015. The Words was originally the eighth track for Christina Perri's second studio album, head or heart.

Red Rising #3: Morning Star By Superstar Author, Pierce Brown, Gets An OCD-Triggering Cover

I cannot really say if I liked the new cover of the final book in the Red Rising Trilogy, Morning Star by Pierce Brown. I was overly happy with the first two covers, because they were a perfect match and nothing could satisfy my OCD tendencies more. I disappointedly expected a matching cover for the third book, which as you may see below isn't... I don't really love the cover, after all -- after much thought. No offense... I also know why this has to be, because the title is to long and would not fit the format used on the first two books, which have shorter titles. * Eyes twitching.

I am not even finished with the second book yet, you know the one titled Golden Son, and I am already excited for the next book, albeit my bias on the cover. I just hope the story will make up for the cover -- I'm sure author Pierce Brown can manage that...

Check out this new cover of Morning Star by Pierce Brown.

Morning Star by Pierce Brown

And here's how the books would look like if they are put together in one picture.

Vowing to fight for the future that his wife believed in, Darrow joins a secret revolutionary group and is remade into a Gold so that he can infiltrate the ruling class and bring them down from the inside. Now, after years of hiding amongst the Golds, Darrow is finally ready to declare open revolution and throw off the chains of oppression. Finders Keepers By Stephen King Got A Cool Cover For Its UK Edition, Update: US Cover Now Available

Stephen King, Master of the Macabre, has broken his pact for not writing sequels. After Doctor Sleep -- which is the sequel to his hit novel, The Shining -- he breaks away yet again from the standalone scene and delivers Finders Keepers, the second book in a projected trilogy focusing on Bill Hodges, a retired cop who became a private investigator.

The cover has been released from the said book, but it is for the UK edition only. I prefer the US edition, but so far no news of its cover has landed online. It would maybe take a few more weeks before we could finally see the US edition cover... and I can't already wait.

Check out the new cover of Finders Keepers by Stephen King, albeit for UK readers.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King UK edition

And if you like full jackets...

Update: And here is the cover of Finders Keepers by Stephen King US edition.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King US edition

Try to compare it with the cover of the first book, Mr. Mercedes, for both US and UK editions.

Synopsis

A sequel to Mr. Mercedes and second part of a proposed trilogy.

"Wake up, genius." So begins King’s instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, a Salinger-like icon who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn’t published a book for decades. Morris Bellamy is livid, not just because Rothstein has stopped providing books, but because the nonconformist Jimmy Gold has sold out for a career in advertising. Morris kills Rothstein and empties his safe of cash, yes, but the real treasure is a trove of notebooks containing at least one more Gold novel.

Morris hides the money and the notebooks, and then he is locked away for another crime. Decades later, a boy named Pete Sauberg finds the treasure, and now it is Pete and his family that Bill Hodges, Holly Gibney, and Jerome Robinson must rescue from the ever-more deranged and vengeful Morris when he’s released from prison after thirty-five years.

Not since Misery has King played with the notion of a reader whose obsession with a writer gets dangerous. Finders Keepers is spectacular, heart-pounding suspense, but it is also King writing about how literature shapes a life—for good, for bad, forever.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King will hit book stores on June 2, 2015.

Erika Johansen's 'The Invasion of the Tearling' Gets Official Cover, Synopsis And Release Date

So here is the deal: I haven't read The Queen of the Tearling yet, but I have already purchased it online after hearing my love, Emma Watson, will be playing the lead role on the book's movie adaptation. I know this sounds flimsy, but I rest my case.

So for everyone of you who have read the book by Erika Johansen, you may be happy to hear that the second book in this projected trilogy is on the way. In fact we already know that it is called The Invasion of the Tearling. And here are some more: The official cover, synopsis and release date have been unveiled.

Additionally, the book will be around 80 pages longer than it's predecessor, which will abate the need of the voracious fans. Despite having not read the first book yet, I will surely look out for this one, and once my order arrives, I will read it with relish, already picturing Emma in my head.

Here is the official cover of The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen. Only if you are quite OCD, you might be disappointed with some minor changes in the layout and the now prominent character in the cover. See it for your self.

The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

And because I have OCD (and an aspiring Photoshop tinker), I have created my own version. I am not claiming that what I have done is more beautiful, but I have to do this or my head will explode.

The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen (own version)

For reference, here is the cover of The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen.

On the other hand, the UK edition is slaying it. They are gaining high marks of the OCD department. Just look at the books' covers in these editions.

And nothing can stop the invasion. The fate of the Tearling - and that of Kelsea's own soul - may rest with Lily and her story, but Kelsea may not have enough time to find out.
