Cover Reveal Roundup Of Few Upcoming Novels For This Year & The Next

Here are a few cover revelations for this and next year's upcoming books.

The Guardian by John Grisham

The Guardian by John Grisham

Synopsis

The suspense never rests in John Grisham’s pulse-pounding new legal thriller. The latest novel from the New York Times #1 bestselling author moves at breakneck speed, delivering some of his most inventive twists and turns yet.

In the small north Florida town of Seabrook, a young lawyer named Keith Russo was shot dead at his desk as he worked late one night. The killer left no clues behind. There were no witnesses, no real suspects, no one with a motive. The police soon settled on Quincy Miller, a young black man who was once a client of Russo’s.

Quincy was framed, convicted, and sent to prison for life. For twenty-two years he languished in prison with no lawyer, no advocate on the outside. Then he wrote a letter to Guardian Ministries, a small innocence group founded by a lawyer/minister named Cullen Post.

Guardian handles only a few innocence cases at a time, and Post is its only investigator. He travels the South fighting wrongful convictions and taking cases no one else will touch. With Quincy Miller, though, he gets far more than he bargained for. Powerful, ruthless people murdered Keith Russo, and they do not want Quincy exonerated.

They killed one lawyer twenty-two years ago, and they will kill another one without a second thought.

The Guardian by John Grisham will be released on October 15, 2019.

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Maureen Johnson delivers the witty and pulse-pounding conclusion to the Truly Devious series as Stevie Bell solves the mystery that has haunted Ellingham Academy for over 75 years.

Ellingham Academy must be cursed. Three people are now dead. One, a victim of either a prank gone wrong or a murder. Another, dead by misadventure. And now, an accident in Burlington has claimed another life. All three in the wrong place at the wrong time. All at the exact moment of Stevie’s greatest triumph . . .

She knows who Truly Devious is. She’s solved it. The greatest case of the century.

At least, she thinks she has. With this latest tragedy, it’s hard to concentrate on the past. Not only has someone died in town, but David disappeared of his own free will and is up to something. Stevie is sure that somehow—somehow—all these things connect. The three deaths in the present. The deaths in the past. The missing Alice Ellingham and the missing David Eastman. Somewhere in this place of riddles and puzzles there must be answers.

Then another accident occurs as a massive storm heads toward Vermont. This is too much for the parents and administrators. Ellingham Academy is evacuated. Obviously, it’s time for Stevie to do something stupid. It’s time to stay on the mountain and face the storm—and a murderer.

In the tantalizing finale to the Truly Devious trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Maureen Johnson expertly tangles her dual narrative threads and ignites an explosive end for all who’ve walked through Ellingham Academy.

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson will be released on January 21, 2020.

It's been only a month since I received my copy of Queenslayer, the fifth book in the Spellslinger series by Sebastien de Castell, and we already have great news coming in for the next and final book. The finale is called Crownbreaker and it will be released within the year!

The official cover has just been unveiled and it is highlighted by a golden motif with the usual game card head-to-head look. Would this cover have a metallic shimmer as the following art implies? I am not sure... but what do you think?

#CoverReveal: The Book of Dust: 'The Secret Commonwealth' By Philip Pullman

The second book in The Book of Dust series by Philip Pullman just got an official cover! Called The Secret Commonwealth  this book will bring us back to the His Dark Materials universe that awed and enthralled fans, including me.

Just like its predecessor, the cover features an art that emulates the look anf feel of wood-carving, which is kind of unique in this day and age. It is highlighted by a reddish-orange hue -- brought about by the scenic depiction in the picture os a sunrise or sunset as a train passes by... off to somewhere promising, exciting ang myterious.

Synopsis

"It's a stunning achievement, this universe Pullman has created and continues to build on." --The New York Times

Return to the parallel world of His Dark Materials in the second volume of Philip Pullman's new bestselling masterwork The Book of Dust, and discover what comes next for Lyra, "one of fantasy's most indelible characters." (The New York Times Magazine)

Lyra Silvertongue's adventures in the North are long over--the windows between the many worlds have been sealed, and her beloved Will is lost to her. She does still have the alethiometer: the truth-telling device given to her by the master of Jordan College, which guided her journey.

Lyra doesn't know the full story of the alethiometer, though. Or the role that young Malcolm Polstead played in bringing both the instrument and baby Lyra to Jordan. She's now a twenty-year-old undergraduate at St. Sophia's College. To her, Malcolm is Dr. Polstead, an overly solicitous professor she would prefer to avoid.

But intrigue is swirling around Lyra once more. Her daemon Pantalaimon is witness to a brutal murder, and the dying man entrusts them with secrets that carry echoes from their past. They learn of a city haunted by daemons, of a desert said to hold the secret of Dust.

Powerful forces are about to throw Lyra and Malcolm together once again. And the dangers they face will challenge everything they thought they knew about the world, and about themselves.

The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman will be released on October 3, 2019.
