Brandon Sanderson is no doubt a prolific author. He has written a lot of books in a span of time when other author can only manage one or two. He has published at least 3 comic books in the White Sand combic book series, which ignited me to look for his other works in this same media. And lo, comes Dark One--a new comic book series centering on the perspecptive of the archnemesis, the villain, or a dark lord...

Like with most comic books, Dark One is a collaborative work. It will be published by Vault Comics based on the story by Brandon Sanderson. It will be writtern for comics by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, edited by Adrian F. Wassel, and with the art and colors by Nathan C. Gooden and Kurt Michael Russell.

Some worlds are made to be broken.

Paul Tanasin is a young man haunted by visions of a dark and fantastic world?visions he initially believes are hallucinations. But when he discovers they are prophecies from Mirandus, a world in which he’s destined to become a fearsome destroyer, he’ll have to embrace the fear, rise up as the Dark One, and shatter everything. Dark One examines the dual roles we often take on in life―the ability to be a savior as well as a destroyer.

Anthony Ryan To Publish 'The Pariah', First Book In The Covenant Of Steel Trilogy

In a surprising turn of events, author Anthony Ryan has announced a new trilogy called The Covenant Of Steel with the first book titled The Pariah. It will be published by Orbit (he is usually published by Ace in the US), which turned out to be a heartbreaking tragedy (as usual for Orbit) becasue there is no US hardcover edition so I will have to import from UK to get a hardcover. I wonder if Anderida Books will have a run of the signed special edition hardcover for this one...

A mysterious cover has been unveiled at the same time the book was announced. This beautiful cover is courtesy of artist Jaime Jones, who is not new to painting cover art for the author as he also did the cover for the UK edition of The Waking Fire, and cover designer Lauren Panepinto.

Fighting under the command of Lady Evadine Courlain, a noblewoman beset by visions of a demonic apocalypse, Alwyn must survive war and the deadly intrigues of the nobility if he hopes to claim his vengeance. But as dark forces, both human and arcane, gather to oppose Evadine's rise, Alwyn faces a choice: can he be a warrior, or will he always be an outlaw?

After nearly three years since the publication of the first book, the second entry in The Fire Sacraments series by Robert V.S. Redick is finally at hand. Titled Sidewinders, this exciting sequel continues on the story of two dynamic and complicated brothers. The first book was recommend by author Mark Lawrence and his glowing review urged me to buy it, and it didn't disappoint.

It's been so long a wait, but I would assume it would be worth it. The official cover of Sidewinders by Robert V.S. Redick has been unveiled to give way to its official publication a few months from now. You can also see the reveal at the author's official website.

Two brothers flee an army of fanatics across a vast and magical desert in this white-knuckle sequel to Master Assassins from Robert V.S. Redick, author of The Red Wolf Conspiracy.

The worst of rivals, the closest of friends, the two most wanted men in a war-torn world: Kandri and Mektu Hinjuman have cheated death so often it’s begun to feel like a way of life. But nothing has prepared them for the danger and enchantment of the Ravenous Lands. This sprawling, lethal desert is the brothers’ last hope, for they have killed the favorite son of Her Radiance the Prophet, and her death-priests and magical servants are hunting them day and night.

But there are dangers even within their caravan. Some of their fellow travelers worship the Prophet in secret. Others, including Mektu, have become obsessed with a bejeweled dagger that seems to afflict its owners with madness or death.

At stake is far more than the lives of two runaway soldiers. Kandri is carrying an encoded cure for the World Plague, a disease that has raged for centuries—while far from the desert, certain criminals have learned just how lucrative a plague can be. Are they using the Prophet, or being used by her? Who, in this game of shadows, can Kandri trust?

He knows one thing, however: they must reach Kasralys, great and beautiful fortress-city of the east. Only there can the precious cure be deciphered. Only there can Kandri seek word of the lover who vanished one night without a trace.

But Kasralys, never conquered in 3,000 years, is about to face its greatest siege in history.

Sidewinders by Robert V.S. Redick will be released on July 6, 2021.
