US Edition Cover Reveal: 'The Notorious Scarlett And Browne' By Jonathan Stroud

It's unfortunate that the US edition of the books in Jonathan Stroud's The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne series are published a couple of months later than their UK counterparts. Take The Notorious Scarlett And Browne, the second book in the series, for example. It will be published nine months after it's initial UK release. It offers a lot of spoilers if you are not careful enough to block any UK reviews and discussions...

The only consolation US readers get from time to time is the fantastic covers of the US editions, which vary significantly from its UK counterpart... So it is something to look forward to aside from the book itself. I am glad to share that the cover of The Notorious Scarlett and Browne by Jonathan Stroud has been unveiled to temporarily fill in the gap of its long-awaited US release.

Check out the official cover of The Notorious Scarlett and Browne by Jonathan Stroud.

The Kylar Chronicles Book 1: 'Night Angel Nemesis' By Brent Weeks Gets Official Cover

A few years after publishing The Burning White, the finale of the Lightbringer series, author Brent Weeks returns to the Night Angel universe with a sequel series called The Kylar Chronicles. This new series will commence with Night Angel Nemesis, which I am hope will kickstart another trilogy at least.

The official cover of Night Angel Nemesis has been unveiled, bringing with it a new visual flavor, which also prompted a fresh set of the cover redesign of the original trilogy--only for paperbacks, sadly, and not for hardcovers. These redesigned paperbacks will be released early next year--a great marketing opportunity for Night Angel Nemesis's April of 2023 release.

Night Angel Nemesis by Brent Weeks

Synopsis

Brent Weeks returns to the New York Times bestselling world of the Night Angel in Night Angel Nemesis, following master assassin Kylar on a new adventure as the High King Logan Gyre calls on him to save his kingdom and the hope of peace.

After the war that cost him so much, Kylar Stern is broken and alone. He's determined not to kill again, but an impending amnesty will pardon the one murderer he can't let walk free. He promises himself this is the last time. One last hit to tie up the loose ends of his old, lost life.

But Kylar's best--and maybe only--friend, the High King Logan Gyre, needs him. To protect a fragile peace, Logan’s new kingdom, and the king’s twin sons, he needs Kylar to secure a powerful magical artifact that was unearthed during the war.

With rumors that a ka'kari may be found, adversaries both old and new are on the hunt. And if Kylar has learned anything, it’s that ancient magics are better left in the hands of those he can trust.

If he does the job right, he won’t need to kill at all. This isn’t an assassination—it’s a heist. But some jobs are too hard for an easy conscience, and some enemies are so powerful the only answer lies in the shadows.

Night Angel Nemesis by Brent Weeks will be released on April 25, 2023.

Official Cover Of The Kithamar Book 2: 'Blade Of Dream' By Daniel Abraham Revealed

Orbit has been known to release covers of books that aren't even substantially written yet (or at least I presumed). Take The Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch, for example. The cover was enthusiatically revealed way back in 2015 -- not to mention a publication date was set a year after -- but nearly a decade after the book hasn't come to light... which is understandable because the issues encountered by the author Lynch are understandable. Please take your time, Mr. Scott Lynch.

Even the duo James S. A. Corey (in which author Daniel Abraham is half a part of) shared some anecdotal tale to this same effect. I am not sure however if this was accurate or not. It was shared (maybe jokingly) that the covers of the Expanse books had been created ahead of the writing so the marketing and promotion of the book can kickstart, and the authors would have to find a way to incorporate the likely event illustrated in the cover art to the final written story. Is this true, though?

I hope we have don't have the same scenario for Daniel Abraham's Kithamar books. But it seems not the case as the second book of the said trilogy has been surprisingly announced with a title and beautiful book cover sans the synopsis and the day-specific release date.
