Final I Am Number Four Book By Pittacus Lore Is Called "United As One" + Official Cover

I always thought that the title of the final I Am Number Four or Lorien Legacies book will be called The Chosen One. I kept it and fuelled the flame that it might truly be the official one, but alas. I was not expecting the revelation of the official title this early, but it did happen.

It was recently announced the the title of the final book will be United as One. It did confirm my hunch that it will focus on the numeric "one," not referring to number One caught in Malaysia... And it did also confirm my assumption that the title would break the four-word pattern...

Check out the cover of United as One by Pittacus Lore.

United as One by Pittacus Lore

The official synopsis is still in the wrap, so no luck of knowing this early what will our fate be after the cataclysmic battle.

United as One by Pittacus Lore will be released on June 28, 2016.

Bright Ideas for Lighting: Innovative Outdoor Technology

Bright Ideas for Lighting
Since Thomas Edison invented the first commercial light bulb in 1879, the concepts involved in the illumination of one's home have progressed at, well, at the speed of light, if you will. The days of incandescent light being the standard option of illumination are long gone, and have made way for newer, more innovative means of producing light, and more aesthetically-pleasing means of presenting it. Here are three cutting-edge, designer lighting options for a modern home that would knock Edison's suspender socks right off...

Manufactured Moon Light

Manufactured by Night Light, Inc., these outdoor lights create the facade of a full moon-lit night. The lights are placed in high trees, and the higher the better for a believable effect and for obscuring the lights from the unsuspecting eye. Aim for a height of 30 feet or higher to generate a natural look. Optimal for a woodsy outdoor area, moon lights provide such ample illumination that no path lighting features are required.

Surface-Mounted Luminaries

Light Nodes, a new series introduced by U.S. Architectural Lighting, are compact luminaries that mount to the wall. These lights are ideally paired with high efficiency lamps and LEDs. Designed to endure wet, damp locations and still provide shielded illumination, Light Nodes come in a wide spectrum of colors, temperatures, and beam patterns, and can accommodate lamp sizes up to PAR20, A19, and R20.

New Wave Pool Lights

Chill Lites are LED lamps that are rechargeable, cordless and resistant to water and chlorine. They are ideal for floating atop a pool — making a dip in the water all that more inviting — or lining a pool border for a touch of elegant decor. The LED bulbs are available in glowing blue, red, white, and green, and are offered in unique shapes including: balloon, bubble, cube, and globe. Chill Lites were featured as one of the most exciting examples of outdoor lighting in an article by IntheSwim.com, which has more examples of creating a dramatic pool or patio ambiance.

Solar Flare

These Imperial II Solar Lanterns sit atop three-inch poles and add flare to your backyard, garden or patio. They come fully loaded with more than 20 LEDs, delivering 350 lumens of power to improve visibility. These uniquely designed lanterns boast reflector boosts to the lighting power, are composed of weather resistant, cast-aluminum, and house an 8-watt solar panel made of tempered glass that allows the lantern to run for up to 12 hours if it is fully charged. When the sun sets, the solar lanterns activate on their own, generating automatic ambiance for your outdoor enjoyment.

Technology has brought our race unfathomable advances in science, medicine, communication, and yes, even simple exterior lighting. These examples of attractive and innovative lighting options with light that lasts for days, and devices that harness the power of the sun, would have been considered witchcraft in the 1800s, but today they are our modern conveniences. If Edison could see us now ... he'd see us much more clearly, and in much better light.

The next Sigma Force thriller is coming and it's not going to be later than you think. James Rollins will be releasing The Bone Labyrinth just in time for Christmas, if you are lacking any gift ideas. And ant only that... any die hard fan should be happy to hear of what I am about to say!

Signed first editions will be available for purchase. This is especially great news to any fan, who doesn't have the power to personally meet the author and have his or her copy signed -- maybe if you are living on the other side of the world. A fact that applies to yours truly as well. Yay!

The Bone Labyrinth: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins

Synopsis

In this groundbreaking masterpiece of ingenuity and intrigue that spans 50,000 years of human history, New York Times bestselling author James Rollins takes us to mankind’s next great leap.

But will it mark a new chapter in our development... or our extinction?

A war is coming, a battle that will stretch from the prehistoric forests of the ancient past to the cutting-edge research labs of today, all to reveal a true mystery buried deep within our DNA, a revelation that will leave readers changed forever . . .

In the remote mountains of Croatia, an archaeologist makes a strange discovery: a subterranean Catholic chapel, hidden for centuries, holds the bones of a Neanderthal woman. In the same cavern system, elaborate primitive paintings tell the story of an immense battle between tribes of Neanderthals and monstrous shadowy figures. Who is this mysterious enemy depicted in these ancient drawings and what do the paintings mean?

Before any answers could be made, the investigative team is attacked, while at the same time, a bloody assault is made upon a primate research center outside of Atlanta. How are these events connected? Who is behind these attacks? The search for the truth will take Commander Gray Pierce of Sigma Force 50,000 years into the past. As he and Sigma trace the evolution of human intelligence to its true source, they will be plunged into a cataclysmic battle for the future of humanity that stretches across the globe . . . and beyond.

With the fate of our future at stake, Sigma embarks on its most harrowing odyssey ever—a breathtaking quest that will take them from ancient tunnels in Ecuador that span the breadth of South America to a millennia-old necropolis holding the bones of our ancestors. Along the way, revelations involving the lost continent of Atlantis will reveal true mysteries tied to mankind’s first steps on the moon. In the end, Gray Pierce and his team will face to their greatest threat: an ancient evil, resurrected by modern genetic science, strong enough to bring about the end of man’s dominance on this planet.

Only this time, Sigma will falter—and the world we know will change forever.

One of James Rollins’s most ambitious stories to date, The Bone Labyrinth combines science, adventure, historical mystery, archaeology, technology, and legend in a brilliantly inventive tale that connects early man and the fate of the Neanderthals, while exploring the evolution of human intelligence from its wellspring to where we, as a species, may be headed next. Full of ingenious twists, it is a rip-roaring epic from a master storyteller at the pinnacle of his creative powers.

James Rollins is the New York Times bestselling author of international thrillers, which have been translated into more than forty languages. His Sigma series has been lauded as one of the “top crowd pleasers” (New York Times) and one of the “hottest summer reads” (People).

The Bone Labyrinth: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins will hit book stores on December 15, 2015.

Watch One Direction As They Perform In The New 'Perfect' Music Video

One direction has recently released an extended play disc featuring four songs, with Perfect in the front liner. Perfect is actually the second single after the group has dwindled down to four members (sans Zayn Malik). This is of course attached to there upcoming fifth studio album, Made in the A.M.

Perfect by One Direction

Some say that the song is a response to Taylor Swift's Styles, which all of you know is directed to the One Direction member harry Styles. If this is confirmed, then it brings about glimpses on the relationship of the two, which has already ended despite the seemingly good things we here about it based on the lyrics of both songs.

Watch the new music video of Perfect by One Direction.

The music video was directed by Sophie Muller and was released last October 20, 2015. The video was shot in Intercontinental Hotel in New York City last September and the concept is a fresh and peek on the lives of the singers while on tour.

I don't know but Louis Tomlinson is getting a lot of screen time and exposure lately, which I also noticed on this last single and music video for Drag Me Down. I can sense that they are boosting up the guy after some fans previously complained about his "almost stand-in" role in the band. The EP cover above seems to confirm my hunch...

Made in the A.M. will be released on November 13, 2015 under Columbia and Syco records.

EDM Fans and the Allure of the Electric Dance Music Movement

EDM
DJ and record producer Kascade said, "A lot of people see electronic music as a flavor of the week, but it can be more than that — has to be more than that." The American musician may have been more correct than he realized when he first uttered these words. Electronic Dance Music (EDM) has become much more than a music flavor in the past ten years, and it has evolved into a kind of modern lifestyle.

So what has given this flavor of the week staying power? Quite possibly, it's the fans. As part of one of the fastest growing sub-sects in music fandom, EDM fans encircle their lives around the music, social media and live events of EDM.

The Music

So, what's the big deal with EDM? That's a difficult question to answer since there are so many sub-genres that fall under the EDM umbrella: techno, house, trance, garage, drum and bass, dubstep, trap, grime, juke, moombahton, hardstyle, downtempo and breakbeat. And each of these sub-genres have sub-styles, unique artists and specific target audiences.

Different genre fans sport different trendy attire, from the PLUR (peace, love, unity, respect) girls in their short skirts and florescent bikini tops to the Skrillex fans draped in black and wearing charcoal eyeliner. It's complicated to distinguish one sub to the next, and the fans of each genre like to keep it that way.

Social Media

The bloodstream of the EDM movement and crux of the rapid development of the EDM community is social media. EDM fans, Kandi Kids and ravers can't get enough of their social platforms, mainly using posts to communicate with each other about when and where shows will take place and as a means of chronicling their adventures.

According to a 2014 Eventbrite study, EDM fans on Twitter tweeted almost six times more than a standard Twitter account user. These findings are not surprising considering that many in the EDM community likely prefer cellphones with advanced mobile device features, like easy social media apps and the slo-mo video recording capabilities that shoot at a mind-blowing 240 fps on the iPhone 6 Plus. These features enhance the EDM fans' ability to share and communicate.

The Experience

The Evenbrite study also determined that compared to fans of other music genres, EDM fans' tweet content discussed concerts 30 percent more than any other genre's fans, suggesting that sharing the experience of an EDM live show is an imperative for these concert-goers. Plus, more than 39 percent of EDM Twitter and Facebook conversations highlight the love for EDM as the main focus of the post.

To its fans, EDM is not just something you listen to, it is something you experience live. With such a positive vibe created through the music and the followers of this movement, it is no wonder EDM has grown its fan base and taken the music world by storm.

As the prophetic Kascade hypothesized, EDM is not a flavor of the week. It's not a flash in the pan of music history. For the Kandi Kids and PLUR girls, the ravers and more, EDM has become a way of life.

James Dashner Just Finished Writing Next "The Maze Runner" Book Called "The Fever Code"

Update: Visit the link for the official cover of The Fever Code by James Dashner.

The Maze Runner series is getting a new prequel, and a sequel to the previously hit The Kill Order. The success of the movie just proved that old and new fans alike are ready to dive in for more adventures (or misadventures) awaiting Thomas and Teresa.

And to confirm, James Dashner just finished writing The Fever Code. He is still a long way before the polished version of the novel, but at least we already got the early drafts to fill in the void of waiting for the said book, despite not being able to read it. I am reassured...

I just wrote the last sentence of #TheFeverCode, direct prequel to #TheMazeRunner. It made me choke up.
Posted by James Dashner on Friday, October 16, 2015

James Dashner was also quoted: "From the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box. There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began."

Here is a fan-made cover I did for The Fever Code by James Dashner.

The Fever Code by James Dashner

Synopsis

... the novel will explore the creation of the Maze, and how the Gladers all got there. After all, Thomas, Teresa and their fellow Glade-dwellers didn’t choose to jump into that freight elevator and forget their pasts. Or did they?

The Fever Code by James Dashner will be released sometime in 2016. Do come back for more details and information about the upcoming book.

Simple Plan Releases 'I Don't Wanna Go To Bed' Official Music Video Featuring Nelly & The Hoff

Summer has already ended, but that doesn't stop the Simple Plan crew to have a Baywatch theme on their next music video. This one is in line with the third single lifted from the band's upcoming fifth studio album. I Don't Wanna Go To Bed follows up Boom and I Don't Wanna Be Sad.

I Don't Wanna Go To Bed by Simple Plan ft. Nelly

The video is directed by Mark Staubach and was Shot in California, giving this Canadian group some reason to shed off their clothes, don the red swimming suit and show some skin. They're definitely going away with their high school punk branding and moving ahead to the hot direction.

Watch the music video of I Don't Wanna Go To Bed by Simple Plan, featuring Nelly (track) and David Hasselhoff (video), the original Baywatch guy.

There's no official and complete list of the tracks of the said upcoming album, and no official title and release date (in 2016) either... so stay tune as I will update you once we get these information.

Final The Queen of the Tearling Book By Erika Johansen Is Titled 'The Fate of the Tearling'

To tell you the truth I've been holding on buying The Invasion of the Tearling (it's been ages on my online shopping cart, but always transfer it to the wish list whenever I do a checkout)... for so simple a reason that I am not sure if most of you could relate with it: I have been very cringy and annoyed whenever cover designs for serial books change throughout the series. Now I already bared to you one of my deepest pseudo-secret.

On the lighter part I comment Erika Johansen for an almost OCD-satisfying pattern in her book titles as the title of the third and final book in The Queen of the Tearling series has been revealed and it's called The Fate of the Tearling. Definitely, I have already a few things to look forward to in this fandom: the movie adaptation of The Queen of the Tearling, starring Emma Watson and the said final book.

Updated: Here is the official cover of The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen.

Film vs. Broadway: A Look at 3 Favorite Stories

When a beloved book is turned into a movie, there are always people who love the adaptation and those who feel the story should have stayed on paper. The same is true for movies that are turned into Broadway shows; while many of our favorite classic stories translate well onto the live stage, there are limits to what the actors can do. To illustrate this point, check out the following popular movies and how — or if — they were able to translate onto the stage:

Aladdin

In 1992, Disney released "Aladdin" as its 31st animated film. The movie was an enormous hit with people of all ages, who loved the adaptation of the Arab folktale of “Aladdin and the Magic Lamp.” The movie was filled with lively and catchy songs and great voice actors, including the late Robin Williams as the Genie. The movie has earned over $217 million in the United States and has won a number of awards.

In March of 2014, Disney Theatrical’s version of "Aladdin" opened on Broadway in the New Amsterdam Theatre. While there are some slight changes to the story, it’s close enough to the movie to please purists who want to see the animated version brought to life. All of the songs in the movie are in the Broadway version, as well as four new ones and three that were cut from the original movie. While Genie doesn’t change shapes like the animated version, actor James Monroe Iglehart has enough moxie combined with lighting and pyrotechnics to nail the character.

Matilda

The Roald Dahl story of a brilliant little girl who learns how to deal with nasty parents and a terrifying principal has warmed our hearts in book and movie form for decades. The 1996 movie version of "Matilda" received positive reviews overall. Mara Wilson’s acting as the title role was spot on and Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman play her parents with clueless nastiness.

More recently, the Tony-Award winning "Matilda The Musical" delights sold-out audiences who find themselves rooting for this extraordinary young girl. In both the movie and theater version, the characters translate well from the book. However, the stage version seems more like a live comic strip at times.

Sister Act

Like "Aladdin," "Sister Act" also came out in theaters in 1992. The popular movie stars Whoopi Goldberg as a Reno lounge singer who has to disguise herself as a nun and hide out in a convent after seeing a murder.

The Broadway version of "Sister Act" is set in Philadelphia instead of San Francisco, but the overall story line is the same. What the stage version is noticeably missing, though, is the familiar songs, like "My Guy," that the nuns transform into hymn-worthy numbers. While the songs have been replaced with new numbers, audiences may find themselves missing the old standards. However, the Broadway version does include plenty of choral songs to keep audiences entertained, and the chemistry between the actors is apparent, making for a great show.

Cover Reveal: Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices #1) By Cassandra Clare

While everyone is engrossed in the ongoing New York Comic-Con, author Cassandra Clare didn't let slip this opportunity to present her next novel. The new series, The Dark Artifices, has long been announced but the cover of the first book in the series has just been unveiled.

Her new book, Lady Midnight, will once again dive into her imaginary world, where demons and angels and other cosmic or supernatural creatures roam the world and parade as regular humans or avoid being seen entirely. Every fan can't get enough of her novels and this one, hopefully is not an exception. Her books are that good, believe me.

Check out the official cover of Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Synopsis

The Shadowhunters of Los Angeles star in the first novel in Cassandra Clare’s newest series, The Dark Artifices, a sequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series. Lady Midnight is a Shadowhunters novel.

It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.

Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…

Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?

Glitz, glamours, and Shadowhunters abound in this heartrending opening to Cassandra Clare’s Dark Artifices series.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare will be released on March 8, 2016.

Cover Reveal: 'The Last Star' (Final Book Of The Fifth Wave Series) By Rick Yancey

The 5th Wave movie invasion is almost upon us, and so is the final book in the series, The Last Star. I was greatly teased by the cliffhanger of the The Infinite Sea that I almost thought it was incomplete or there was some printing error on my copy, but alas no it was all it can be and only the last book may be able to fill in the void caused by such abrupt ending.

We will finally discover the fate of humanity if it's gonna survive or not. After so many twists and turns in the books my mind is still unclear weather who we are really up against. But one thing is for sure, Cassie and her allies will find out about it the hard way... paying dear along the process.

Check out his cool cover of The Last Star by Rick Yancey.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey

Synopsis

Following the major motion picture release starring Chloë Grace Moretz, the heart-stopping finale to the New York Times bestselling 5th Wave series

We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Master storyteller Rick Yancey invokes triumph, loss, and unrelenting action as the fate of the planet is decided in the conclusion to this epic series.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey will hit book shelves on May 24, 2016.

Rick Riordan Announces New Demigod Series 'The Trials Of Apollo'

Stories in the Percy Jackson universe isn't going to end with Percy Jackson's Greek Gods and Heroes just yet as Rick Riordan recently announced a new demigods series pitting the characters back into this world. Presenting the new series titled The Trials Of Apollo!

The series will be composed of five books and will feature the first-person point-of-view of a God! Each chapter will be as hilarious as ever, but this time they will all be in a form of a very bad haiku. Riordan said the series will keep in touch with old favorites and will see what's happening to them now.

Rick Riordan also added: "How do you punish an immortal God? By making him human. After angering Zeus, Apollo is cast down and lands in NYC as a regular teenage boy. Without his godly powers the deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he regains his powers. But he has enemies who would love to destroy him. He can think of only one place to go for help: Camp Half Blood."

The Hidden Oracle (The Trials Of Apollo) by Rick Riordan

Synopsis

The series will be about how Apollo has been turned into a human because Zeus is angry with him. He becomes a 16-year-old mortal boy with absolutely no powers. He’ll wind up in New York City, landing in a dumpster, no less.

He’s got lots of enemies and only a few friends — friends who spend their time at Camp Half-Blood. He’ll need their help to survive the mortal world and, hopefully, regain his godly powers.

And while it’s certainly extremely exciting to know we’ll be going back to the Greek gods, it’s even more exciting that we’ll be meeting Percy and the whole gang again. In fact, we will find out what happens after The Blood of Olympus, seeing everyone at one point or another.

The Hidden Oracle, which is the first book in The Trials Of Apollo series, will hit book stores on May 3, 2016. A teaser, which will be included in Demigods & Magicians: Percy and Annabeth Meet the Kanes (a collection of the crossover stories), will come out on April 5, 2016.

Synopsis

Demigods & Magicians by Rick Riordan
Magic, monsters, and mayhem abound when Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase meet Carter and Sadie Kane for the first time. Weird creatures are appearing in unexpected places, and the demigods and magicians have to team up to take them down. As they battle with Celestial Bronze and glowing hieroglyphs, the four heroes find that they have a lot in common--and more power than they ever thought possible. But will their combined forces be enough to foil an ancient enemy who is mixing Greek and Egyptian incantations for an evil purpose? Rick Riordan wields his usual storytelling magic in this adrenaline-fueled adventure.

Also: Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard book 2 is titled The Hammer of Thor and will publish on October 4, 2016

Bill Hodges Book 3 'End Of Watch' By Stephen King Gets An Official Cover

It is such a rare occasion that Stephen King releases sequels -- that is why he is sometimes dubbed as the Stand-Alone Novel Master (aside from Master of Macabre, of course) -- and so it is even rarer that he will release a trilogy. But his Bill Hodges chronicles seem to be an exemption.

These thriller novels focusing on the old-veteran-turned-private-eye now has a third book coming our way and the official cover art and title has been revealed. Gone are the gore theme of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers covers and a thumbs-up for the X-ray vision concept of the fantastic End of Watch cover art.

Check out the cover of End of Watch (Bill Hodges #3) by Stephen King.

End of Watch by Stephen King

Synopsis

In Room 217 of the Lakes Region Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, something has awakend. Something evil.

Brady Hartsfield, perpetrator of the Mercedes Massacre, where eight people were killed and many more were badly injured, has been in the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic for five years, in a vegetative state. According to his doctors, anything approaching a complete recovery is unlikely. But behind the drool and stare, Brady is awake, and in possession of deadly new powers that allow him to wreak unimaginable havoc without ever leaving his hospital room.

Retired police detective Bill Hodges, the unlikely hero of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers, now runs an investigation agency with his partner, Holly Gibney, who delivered the blow to Hartsfield's head that put him on the brain injury ward. Brady also remembers that. When Bill and Holly are called to a murder-suicide with ties to the Mercedes Massacre, they find themselves pulled into their most dangerous case yet, one that will put not only their lives at risk, but those of Hodges’s friend Jerome Robinson and his teenage sister, Barbara. Because Brady Hartsfield is back, and planning revenge not just on Bill Hodges and his friends, but on an entire city.

In End of Watch, Stephen King brings the Hodges trilogy to a sublimely terrifying conclusion, combining the detective fiction of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers with the supernatural suspense that has been his trademark. The result is an unnerving look at human vulnerability and up-all-night entertainment.

End of Watch by Stephen King will hit book stores on June 7, 2016.

Watch Sam Smith Perform 'Writing's On The Wall' In A Music Video For Spectre

The 24th feature film of the James Bond saga is on its way to theaters and there is nothing more exciting than seeing very teasing trailers, posters and promotional materials. Add to this list the official title song, Writing's On The Wall, written and performed by Sam Smith and are surely on your way to the screenings already.

Writing's On The Wall by Sam Smith

The song, which reminds me greatly of Adele's Skyfall, is now up for grabs and the official music video is also available for your critical assessments. The song is very reminiscent of Adele's maybe because the two movies they are attached to are both directed by Sam Mendes.

Enjoy watching Sam Smith perform Writing's On The Wall.

The song was composed by Sam Smith himself (with collaborator Jimmy Napes) and he shared that it was one of the easiest song that he has to write and completed in one whirlwind session. Do you like the song and the music video? I did...
