ABC Family Releases First 'Shadowhunters' TV Series Teaser Trailer (Premiere Date Set)

Cassandra Clare is definitely having a go. She will be releasing new books in the next few years and next year a TV show adaptation of her novels (The Mortal Instruments) will be on it's way as well (the first of this same novels has been previously adapted as a movie way back in 2013). Isn't these any big-timer author's dream?

Constantin Film has produced the show under executive producers Ed Decter and McG. The first episode is known to be helmed by McG. It stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

And here is another trailer, but in full length version.

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, Shadowhunters follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother, Jocelyn, is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

Don't miss the premiere of Shadowhunters on January 12, 2016 only on ABC Family, which is changing its name to Freeform this January 2016!
