Cover Art & Updates On The House Of Hades By Rick Riordan And Other Exciting News

Updated: The cover for The Son of Sobek by Rick Riordan has been revealed. See the cover of The House of Hades.

At last, we are now sure that the next installment in The Heroes of Olympus series is really moving forward. Rick Riordan, who also the wrote The Percy Jackson series and The Kane Chronicles, has posted a blog giving away some details on upcoming release dates of his books as well as the draft of their covers.

First up is the pinkish hue of the draft cover of The House Of Hades, which as of the moment lacks the cover art (that is usually done by John Rocco) and only features the title and author typeset. You can check it out below:

There's nothing much of the cover yet, but at least we are now sure that it follows the format of the previous three. What's more exciting though are the accompanying details that the author himself revealed and I quote:

'The fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series, The House of Hades, will be released October 8. 2013! We will reveal the actual cover of the book on May 31. Sneak peeks will be revealed during the summer, as described above -- which is pretty much the same timetable Disney-Hyperion uses every year.

'To which many of you say, "Ahhhhh! You are trolling us! I need the book right NOW! I cannot WAIT!"

'To which the author says, "Glad you're excited! Sorry about the trolling, but ahhhhh! I does not EXIST right NOW! I have to finish WRITING it first!!!"

'Anyway, I promise it will be released on time in October, but no chance in Tartarus that it will be released earlier. And speaking of which, I need to get back to my revisions!'

The author has also revealed the details of the very first crossover story between the Percy Jackson and The Kane Chronicles universe in The Son of Sobek:

The Son of Sobek will be released in electronic e-single format including the text version and an audio version, read by the author himself. It also includes a sneak peak of The House of Hades.
