I think it was not an intentional slight that the previously released character posters feature a not so great version of Gamora, and the CGI characters of Groot and Rocket will have to share a spotlight together, even if they are mostly together in most scenes, but a few of us found it quite not tasteful.
At least Marvel has the guts to release new versions of the posters featuring a much better side of Gamora, and Groot and Rocket having a private space of their own and it certainly abated my previous displeasure.

Synopsis
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.
