Katy Perry Mingles With Jungle Animals As A Lady Tarzan In Roar Music Video

Katy Perry is hitting some jackpot right now, as she lands #1 in Billboard's Hot 100 for her newest single Roar. This is her 8th #1 single so far and it's quite a record if you should know. She had been rocking the recently concluded MTV VMAs as well and all that precedes the release of her much awaited music video for Roar.

Roar by Katy Perry

While Lady Gaga is sinking down, Katy Perry is rising among many come back wannabes and now I am afraid I going to call her the Come Back Queen for this season -- or am I having second thoughts? Roar is such a nice song, but it is not quite as strong as Fireworks, California Gurls and other of her hit songs. Hopefully we'll get to hear better songs from the album, one that has the kick that I am looking for from her. Never mind the song though, because the music video rocks big time.

Roar is the lead single of Prism, Katy Perry's upcoming fourth studio album. This song, which is hailed by critics and very much compared to Fireworks, has experienced some backlash after it was compared to Sara Bareilles's Brave, which was released a few months earlier.

As for the music video, this is so far her closest to nature -- the jungle setting and the participation of the wild animals, especially the tiger, is a nice touch to it. This is her video also where Katy Perry is almost like an action star where she has to cling to some vines and swing around the jungle just like how Tarzan would do it.

I wonder whether she feels a little to itchy and irritated with the leaves as her garment... Katy Perry deserves a nod on this video should you ask me, because the effort is definitely there and I could pardon her for delivering this video late for the VMAs.

If you love nature, this is certainly for you even if some of the scenes where shot in a green-background sound stage. Kudos to the almost believable effects... One thing I notice though is she's going in for the big literature. She went for Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass with Wide Awake music video and now she explored the world of Tarzan in this one.

Prism by Katy Perry is expected to hit music stores on October 22, 2013.
