Maroon 5 Teams Up With Wiz Khalifa For Payphone

Maroon 5 Featuring Wiz Khalifa

Updated: Added video of Maroon 5 with Wiz Khalifa performing Payphone on The Voice.

A hot new single titled Payphone has just been released by the famed band Maroon 5, whose lead singer has become hot topic for a while after joining the line of judges of the ongoing talent show The Voice and collaborating with fellow Judge Christina Aguilera for Moves Like Jagger.

This single, released last Monday, April 16, is in collaboration with American rapper, Wiz Khalifa, who has made a name for his own when he debuted in 2006 with Show and Prove. He is best known for winning the Sprint's Best New Artist award of the 2011 American Music Awards and has been moving forward with rewarding albums like Rolling Papers and the upcoming O.N.I.F.C. (short for Only Nigga In First Class or One Night In First Class), which is to be released on August 28, 2012.

Listen to the single Payphone, the latest addition to the upcoming album by Maroon 5, Overexposed:

The latest singles from Maroon 5 are really heating up in the recent months and that just leaves us a promise of an exciting new album with Overexposed. We can hear in this single the distinct signature voice of the band's lead, Adam Levine, and add up to that Khalifa's precise and understandable rap. This catchy beat and rythmn is surely to make every fans crave for more.

Obviously, this is a reminiscent of the previously released Moves Like Jagger, which captured the attention of millions of music lovers. I have a reason to believe this will surely pick up the hype that the previous single has left us hanging with the need to have some more. Maroon 5 has really hit the mark with collaborating with other artists to get the attention of the contemporary audience.

You could also watch Adam Levine and his band with Wiz Khalifa as they perform live their new single Payphone on The Voice:

Personally, I really liked the song and I can't wait to hear it in its official disc release. Even if payphones are not in for a while with all the technology and hardware, even those who haven't used it could surely relate. It's so 1990's feel that wanna bring me back to my younger years. "If happy ever afters did exist," as the lyrics want to share with us, I guess this track would be it, a truly happy ever after. I could listen to this the whole time without getting ever tired or bored. I just can't stop my hands and feet from tapping and beating.

We will get the full taste of the album Overexposed when it is released on June 26, 2012.
